Gua Sha – Ancient Chinese Medicine

A Gua Sha treatment is a healing technique that acupuncturists use to stimulate the dermal fascia. With the help of a  round-edged instrument, acupuncturists produce the appearance of  pin-point bruises called petechiae or “sha.” Not to be alarmed, this type of “bruising” usually fades within 2-3 days. Raising “sha” helps promote the movement of circulation. Furthermore,  the use of gua sha is a great adjunct modality to aid in pain relief and treating acute or chronic conditions.
